Dewey House accepts candidates who are 18 years of age or older, medically and psychiatrically stable for a community residential setting, and demonstrate a willingness to follow house structure and expectations. Candidates must have no documented safety risk to others to ensure the well-being of our community.

Dewey House is currently accepting applications for our waitlist. Submitting a pre-screening application adds you to the waitlist and helps us reach out as soon as space opens up in the right house for you.

Cost varies by house and by whether you have a private or shared room.

All utilities are included, along with move-in essentials like linens and basic supplies. You'll just need to bring your personal belongings.

Length of stay varies by program.

No, our homes are located near public transportation, grocery stores, and essential services. Parking near our homes is available on the street unless otherwise noted for a specific house.

Yes. All homes have a curfew, weekly house meetings, and shared responsibilities like chores. This structure is part of what helps our community stay accountable and supportive.

Random drug/alcohol testing applies specifically to our recovery-focused houses. It is not part of the Reentry or Young Adult Transition house requirements.

That's okay, our team will help match you to the right house based on your situation during the application and interview process. We offer homes for men and women across early recovery, long-term recovery, reentry, and young adult transition needs.

Yes. All residents have access to life-skills support, including job readiness help, financial literacy workshops, and education/GED support.

For Referral Partners

Submit a referral through our online form with your agency's contact info, the individual's basic information, and a brief summary of their situation and housing need.

Typically within 2–5 business days.

Referring agency and contact info, your relationship to the individual, their basic info, which house type (if known), a brief situation summary, any known safety concerns, and their availability/discharge date if applicable.

Yes, our Reentry Houses are specifically designed for individuals recently released from incarceration. These houses do not carry a recovery-specific component unless the individual also needs recovery support, in which case we'll help identify the best-fit house.

Yes, our Young Adult Transition Houses (ages 18–24) are designed specifically for this population, with life-skills programming built in.

We collect supervising officer and case manager contact information during the selection and intake process and coordinate with them as needed throughout the resident's stay.

Likely yes. We operate multiple house types across gender, recovery stage, reentry status, and age, so we can often find a fit even if the first option isn't right. See our full house list for details.

Cost varies by house and by whether the client would have a private or shared room. We do accept third party funding and private funding.
