House Rules

1. Safety & Security

  • Entry and exit doors are kept closed and locked at all times

  • No weapons, drugs, or drug paraphernalia allowed on the property

  • Residents sign in and out when leaving, for safety and accountability

  • Staff may inspect rooms and belongings at any time for the safety of all residents

2. Curfew & Quiet Hours

  • House curfew applies Sunday–Thursday and Friday–Saturday, with earlier curfew on weeknights

  • Quiet hours run overnight — TVs off, headphones for devices, no disturbances to other residents

  • Residents with work schedules that conflict with curfew can request accommodations through house leadership

3. Guests & Visitors

  • Overnight guests are not permitted

  • Guests are limited to common areas and must leave by curfew

  • Guests cannot be under the influence of drugs or alcohol

4. Substance-Free Environment

  • No alcohol or illegal drugs allowed on the property

  • Smoking permitted in designated outdoor areas only

  • Random drug/alcohol testing applies (recovery houses only)

5. Chores & Shared Spaces

  • All residents share in daily upkeep of the home through assigned chores

  • Common areas and personal spaces are expected to be kept clean and orderly

  • Kitchen and shared spaces have set hours and expectations for cleanup after use

6. Respect & Community Conduct

  • No violent, aggressive, or threatening behavior, at any time

  • No harassment or offensive language directed at residents, neighbors, or staff

  • Residents respect each other's privacy and personal space

  • Borrowing money or property between residents is not permitted

7. Program Participation (recovery houses only)

  • Regular attendance at recovery support meetings is expected

  • Residents maintain an active relationship with a sponsor

  • Participation in outpatient treatment, as applicable

8. Accountability & Consequences

  • Most rule violations follow a documented warning process, discussed with the resident's case manager

  • Serious violations — weapons, violence, drug/alcohol possession — result in immediate dismissal from the home

  • Residents are always treated with dignity throughout this process, and have access to a grievance policy if they disagree with a decision
